- York Heating and Air Conditioning
- Mainstreet Restaurant
- Kendall State Bank
- Northeast Kansas Agency Insurance
- Across the street from the bank is a low gray building with a barber pole outside
- Noll's Wood Shed (he makes furniture and cabinetry)
- One block south is the fire station for Fire Dist. No. 12

This is a beautiful bandstand created to replace the old one. I don't know what happened to the old one. Maybe a tornado destroyed it. The old one (built in 1896) cost about one hundred dollars and the new one (built in 1990) about six thousand dollars. Photo taken 30 Aug 2018. |

Someone asked me why folks still live in a small town like this. I showed them this picture and said 'because of neighborhoods like this out and away from all the hustle and bustle of city life.
